2020 has certainly been a year of change. I think we can all attest to the fact that the year has looked completely different than any of us could have imagined. And while the majority of this change has been difficult and heart-wrenching, there have most definitely been some good moments too.

(There are always good things; sometimes you just have to be looking for them to really see them.)

One of my favorite things that has come out of this crazy year has been that I have been able to fully immerse myself in books again! I used to read non-stop when I was much younger, and there was a part of me that assumed reading would forever have to take a backseat now that I am an adult. But, thankfully, I have realized that is most definitely not the case. When you love something so deeply that it feels like a part of your heart, there is always, always room for it. And I am so thankful that I have made room for reading once again.

I have a goal this year to read 100 books—and I am currently at 41! It’s been so satisfying to keep a list of all of the books I have read so far. So I am going to share a small list of some of my favorite books from this past month.

My Favorite Books

Read in May 2020

I read a total of nine books in May, but these few were definitely favorites. There were a couple that fell into my Least Favorite pile as well—but that may be for another post.

The Ghost Bride and Snow Flower and the Secret Fan were without a doubt my most favorite this past month. I have always loved Asian-inspired fiction, and I am planning to read more by both authors.

Are you keeping a list of books you’ve read this past year too? I’d love to hear some of your favorites so far this year!
